Building things
that matter.
Software developer and technical leader based in the Wirral. 25+ years delivering systems across healthcare, insurance and beyond — from writing code to running teams to setting strategy.
About
The short version.
I'm a hands-on technologist who has spent 25 years building software in sectors where reliability genuinely matters — healthcare, insurance, agriculture. I've led teams, defined architecture, and written the code myself. Often all three in the same week.
Most of my career was at Civica (formerly Chameleon IMS), where I spent 13 years growing with the InfoFlex product — a comprehensive clinical management platform used across the NHS. I progressed from Senior Developer through Technical Lead to Development Manager, eventually leading teams in the UK and India.
In 2024 I co-founded ProtoFlex Software to build something new from scratch. This site is a personal space to write about what I'm learning along the way.
